We had a FaceTime call last night with a newly engaged couple and they asked, “have either of you ever cried at a wedding? You don’t have to say which one of you it was.” And we had to laugh because clearly we’d never met; crying is inevitable for me at nearly every wedding and Tim joins me on occasion. I cry profusely behind my camera during every single father/daughter dance, very frequently during vows (when I always add new things to the list of things I promised Tim when we got married. Damn y’all write some good vows these days), and quite often during the first look. I mean I’m not totally unhinged about it, but weddings are a big freaking deal and I love them so much.
BUT, for all the times we cry, we have never witnessed an fountain of emotion like the ones Laura and Kevin showed one another during their entire day. They love each other so much that I actually pulled Tim aside during the reception and said “is this the first couple we’ve met who miiiiight love each other more than we do?” I mean, Kevin’s face as Laura made her way down the aisle to him, come onnnn. These two are just like, OBSESSED with each other, and literally that is the dream. We love them.
Kevin and Laura, you two are a damn national treasure.
oookay here we go, this is when I first started crying too because look at her.
Her favorite guy, escorting her to her other favorite guy. These are the best moments in an entire life, really.
Taking your entire group to a bar after your ceremony means time to take shadowy couple portraits of your bomb ass inner circle, we love it.
The best parties are shirts optional.
And Navy Pier put on a fireworks show just in time. Hell yes.
